PAGASA Says Hot Weather to Prevail Across PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that hot weather will prevail across the country on election day.  

On Monday (May 12, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The frontal system and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.  

PAGASA weather specialist Daniel Villamil reported that a frontal system will be affecting extreme Northern Luzo,n while the easterlies will bring cloudy skies, isolated rains over the rest of the country.

“Ngayong araw ng eleksyon, dahil sa frontal system, ang area ng Batanes, Cagayan kabilang ang Babuyan Islands ay asahan ang mataas na tiyansa ng mga kalat kalat na thunderstorms,” Villamil said.  

The frontal system will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Batanes and Cagayan.  

The easterlies will bring hot and humid weather over the areas in Visayas and Mindanao. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, with high chances of localized thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

“Samantala sa Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon ay fair weather conditions pa rin ang maasahan, mainit at maalinsangan sa umaga hanggang tanghali pero may mga tiyansa ng pag ulan at pagkidlat sa hapon at gabi,” he added.  

No low-pressure area was spotted inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility.  

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times, heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.  

The coastal water condition over Extreme Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. Visayas and the rest of Luzon, Mindanao, and the remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.  

PAGASA did not raise a gale warning over any of the country’s seaboards.
