Enrique Razon Accused by Cavite Rep. Kiko Barzaga of Link to Corruption in Congress
ENRIQUE RAZON – The Billionaire filed cyberlibel charges against suspended Cavite Representative Kiko Barzaga after he linked him to former House Speaker Martin Romualdez and the alleged corruption in the Congress.
Amid the political turmoil in the Philippine government and the supposed multi-billion flood control mess that sparked public call for accountability, one of the congressmen who became even more popular is suspended Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga. He took the spotlight for speaking against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the administration.

Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga blamed Marcos Jr. and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez over the deaths in Cebu following the wrath of Typhoon Tino. According to Barzaga, there were allegedly no deaths if there was no corruption.
Barzaga even led a rally calling for the resignation of the President. He also previously claimed that he will file an impeachment complaint against Marcos Jr.

Before any impeachment complaint was filed against Pres. Bongbong Marcos, Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga was suspended by the House of Representatives for 60 days over his offensive posts on social media. His recent statements and moves earned him both praises and criticisms.
However, his recent move on social media did not only gather opinions. It also sparked cyberlibel charges against him filed by billionaire Enrique Razon. The ports and casino magnate filed two counts of cyberlibel against Barzaga in a complaint filed to the Makati City’s Prosecutor’s Office.

Based on a report on Inquirer, billionaire Enrique Casino is seeking at least P110 million from Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga over his accusation against him — P100 million in moral damages and P10 million in exemplary damages. The business tycoon cited the alleged damage to his reputation and the emotional distress that Barzaga’s claim has caused him.
Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga claimed that Enrique Razon is allegedly the mastermind in the corruption in Congress. According to the young lawmaker, the billionaire businessman allegedly bribed the lawmakers in the House of Representatives to help former Speaker Martin Romualdez retain the speakership under the 20th Congress.

Barzaga called for the imprisonment of Razon as he ended his post with “#IkulongSiRazon”. Based on the report, the said controversial post has already been deleted but the camp of the billionaire cited in his complaint that it was seen by thousands of netizens on social media including his colleagues and staff.
Enrique Razon believes that Cong. Kiko Barzaga’s accusation against him “crossed the line from political speech into criminal defamation”. He stressed that when former Speaker Romualdez vied for the speakership, he won supermajority votes.
While he wants the President to resign, Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga refuses to back an impeachment case against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
