Authorities Arrest Man for Stealing Chicken Feeders in Marikina City
A 32-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly stole three stainless chicken feeders worth P5,000 in Barangay Concepcion Dos, Marikina City.
On Tuesday afternoon, February 17, 2026, the 68-year-old owner of the items went to check his residential lot along Kahasagan Street when he noticed that some of his things were missing. He realized that the three chicken feeders were no longer there.
“Habang tinitingnan nila ang kanilang lote, napansin nila na may nawawalang gamit—iyung tatlong pirasong chicken feeder na stainless,” Marikina City Police Station PCol. Jenny Tecson said.
The elderly man quickly reported the matter to police officers who were patrolling the area.
The Marikina City Police immediately responded and began searching nearby streets. Their quick action led them to a man riding his own sidecar. Upon inspection, the police found the three missing chicken feeders inside the vehicle.
“Lumulan sila sa barangay mobile at binagtas ang lugar. Doon nga po ay naaktuhan nila ang suspek na nakasakay mismo sa kanyang sariling sidecar at nandoon ang tatlong hinahanap na bagay,” he added.
The officers recovered the stolen items, which had a total value of P5,000. The suspect was taken into custody and brought to the Marikina Police Station. During the investigation, he admitted that he took the feeders.
The senior citizen explained that he did it because he badly needed money for his child’s milk. Despite his reason, the man is now detained at the custodial facility of the Marikina Police Station and is facing a theft complaint.
Meanwhile, the police reminded residents to always secure their homes and properties. They advised people to keep gates locked and to ask trusted neighbors to watch over their houses or vacant lots when they are away.
Authorities said that being alert and careful can help prevent similar incidents and keep the community safe.
