LTFRB Summons Bus Company After Leaving Passengers Waiting for 3 Hours

A bus company is being summoned by LTFRB after leaving passengers waiting for over three hours in Muntinlupa City.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has issued a show cause order against a bus company after passengers were left waiting for three hours before their trip finally started.

The case involves A&B Liner, Inc., which was assigned at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange in Alabang. The incident came to light after a netizen named Tino Olivarez shared his experience online.

According to the account, passengers boarded the bus bound for Lucena City at around 10:00 in the evening. They expected to leave shortly after boarding. However, time passed and the bus did not move.

It was only around 12:30 in the early morning when the conductor started giving out tickets. The bus departed shortly after, leaving passengers frustrated and exhausted from the long and unexpected delay.

LTFRB Chairperson Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said the behavior shown by the driver and conductor was unacceptable. He stressed that passengers deserve respect and proper service, especially after paying their fare and waiting patiently.

The agency believes that public transport operators have a duty to follow rules and treat commuters fairly.

The bus company was given 10 days to submit a written and notarized explanation. They must clarify why their franchise should not be suspended or canceled due to the reported violation. The company was also ordered to attend a hearing scheduled on March 19 at the LTFRB Central Office.

The LTFRB reminded all transport operators to serve the public responsibly and to avoid actions that may cause inconvenience to passengers.
