Vice Pres. Sara Duterte To Run for President in 2028
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President spoke on the recent meetings of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and former Vice President and now-Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo.
A little over two years before the next national polls, Duterte announced that she will run for president in 2028. It silenced a lot of questions as her name usually leads the surveys on potential presidential bets in the next elections.
The announcement of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte that she will run for president in 2028 came amid her rift with Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the current administration. There are even speculations that if Duterte wins, she might allegedly get back at the Marcos Jr. administration.
Amid the impeachment moves against the Vice President, the Duterte camp believes that the current administration wants her out. Impeachment complaints were filed against the Vice President before and one of it reached the Senate but it was archived after the Supreme Court ruled it as unconstitutional for violating the one year ban rule.
Recently, fresh impeachment complaints were filed against the Vice President. There are currently four (4) impeachment raps filed against Duterte before the House of Representatives. The fourth impeachment complaint was filed after she announced her bid for the presidency.
Amid the process in the House, based on a report on PhilStar, the National Unity Party or NUP is most likely not to vote in favor of the impeachment rap against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Recently, she was asked about the recent meetings of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and former Vice President and Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo.
Marcos Jr. and Robredo recently met in Naga as the President visited the city for the Oplan Kontra Baha. Amid the speculations, both of them denied that they talked about politics. Following the President’s visit in Naga, Mayor Leni Robredo was one of the mayors who came to Malacañang for the launching of a program that aims to boost the support of the national government to the local government units (LGUs).
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was asked about the recent meetings of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo. The Vice President has a short statement about it.
“Good luck. Good luck,” she said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was also asked about Pres. Bongbong Marcos saying “good luck” to her after she declared that she will run for president in 2028. Here’s the response of the Vice President:
“Back at them…back at you.. back at them.. Good luck.”
Amid the political factions in the Philippine government, the former spokesman of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Harry Roque, claimed that Naga Mayor Leni Robredo and the Kakampink may allegedly support VP Sara Duterte.
