Karen Davila Delivers Strong Message to Suntay Amid Growing Backlash
SUNTAY – Tension flared online after Karen Davila openly criticized Congressman Bong Suntay over his controversial remarks during a congressional hearing.
Television journalist Karen Davila did not hold back her frustration after controversial remarks made by Bong Suntay during a congressional hearing drew widespread backlash online.
The 4th District Quezon City representative is currently facing intense criticism over what many netizens described as an inappropriate and disrespectful statement involving actress and TV host Anne Curtis. Public outrage quickly escalated, with various women’s groups and concerned citizens calling out the congressman for his choice of words.

The issue stemmed from a House Committee on Justice hearing tackling the impeachment complaint against Sara Duterte. During the proceedings, Suntay cited Anne as an example while discussing the Vice President’s alleged participation in rallies and her remarks about being a “designated survivor.”
He stated, “Minsan nasa Shangri-La ako, nakita ko si Anne Curtis. Ang ganda-ganda pala niya. You know, may desire sa loob ko na nag-init talaga, at na-imagine ko na lang kung ano ang puwedeng mangyari. Pero siyempre hanggang imagination lang ’yon.”
The comment immediately triggered strong reactions, with many calling it misogynistic and out of place in a formal legislative setting. Among those who spoke out was Karen Davila, who addressed the matter at the close of “TV Patrol” on March 3, coinciding with the celebration of Women’s Month.

‘Yong kulturang ganoon, hindi okay ‘yon,” the news anchor said emphatically.

She further reminded lawmakers of their responsibilities to the Filipino people.
Do your job well,” Karen’s bold attack on Suntay.
