They also coordinated with the vehicle’s owner, who helped convince the driver to come forward and face the situation.

During his explanation, the driver became emotional as he shared the struggles he had been facing. He said that his earnings from driving have become very low due to the high cost of fuel and fewer passengers.

The driver added that he sometimes brings home only around P100 to P150 a day, which is not enough to support his daily needs. Because of this, he admitted that he made the wrong decision to leave the station without paying.

“Kasi wala po akong mauwing pera. Hindi na po ‘to mauulit, Humihingi po ako ng pasensya sa ginawa ko,” the suspect said.

The driver expressed deep regret for what he had done and assured authorities that it would not happen again. He also personally apologized to the gasoline station staff for the trouble and fear he caused.

At the police station, the suspect and the gasoline boy were able to meet. While the worker said he feels more at ease now that the driver has surrendered, he also shared that the incident left him shaken.
