Amid 2-Week Ceasefire, United States-Iran Fail to Agree over Nuclear Power, Strait of Hormuz
UNITED STATES, IRAN – U.S. Vice President JD Vance announced that they failed to get to an agreement with Iran following the 21-hour peace talk.
The war in the Middle East has paused after U.S. Pres. Donald Trump agreed stop attacking Iran for two (2) weeks. According to him, it will be a “double sided ceasefire” if ever the two (2) countries arrive at an agreement.

The conflict that rose among the United States, Israel, and Iran came after U.S. and Israel launched airstrikes that killed many Iranians including its supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. According to U.S. Pres. Donald Trump, the attack was allegedly to stop Iran from destroying the world through nuclear power.
The American President recognized that the turn of events has led to higher costs of oil in many countries but stressed that it will allegedly be short-term. According to him, stopping Iran from destroying the world is more important to him as a national leader.

Following the attack, Tehran imposed restrictions in the passage in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway passage for international oil shipments. U.S. and Iran-linked ships were prohibited.
For numerous instances, the United States has raised warnings against Iran for the full opening of the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. Pres. Donald Trump even previously warned Iran that it’s “whole civilization will die” if it won’t be able to open the Strait before the ultimatum ends.

Iran is now led by the son of the slain former Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. Amid the Middle East war, the Iranians previously vowed to avenge the death of their fellows. They even warned the world to prepare for oil to reach $200 per barrel.
Iran stressed that they will make the United States regret the supposed “grave miscalculation”. However, on the part of U.S., Trump wants Iran to agree that it won’t acquire nuclear power.
