New Accusations Shake Alice Guo Amid Claims Of False Identity in Land Deal
ALICE GUO – Another controversy is unfolding for Alice Guo as authorities push for new charges tied to a disputed farmland ownership.
A new legal challenge is looming over former Bamban Mayor Alice Guo, as the Department of Justice (DOJ) has recommended filing another case against her—this time involving alleged misrepresentation tied to farmland ownership.
In a resolution dated March 3, the DOJ supported a complaint lodged in 2024 by the Dagupan district office of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). The complaint seeks to indict Guo for falsely presenting the ownership structure of 3Lin Q-Farm Inc., an agricultural firm in Pangasinan reportedly linked to her family. Authorities claim that there was a deliberate misrepresentation of Filipino ownership, which constitutes a violation of Commonwealth Act No. 108, also known as the Anti-Dummy Law.
NBI Director Melvin Matibag praised investigators in Dagupan for conducting thorough case development. Meanwhile, NBI spokesperson Ferdinand Lavin revealed that Guo, along with her siblings Shiela and Siemen and parents Jiang Zhong Guo and Lin Wenyi, identified themselves as Filipino citizens when acquiring four parcels of land in Mangatarem, Pangasinan, under the company’s name.
Investigators later discovered discrepancies in official corporate records, including the company’s articles of incorporation and general information sheets filed by its corporate secretary. Initially, Guo had only been indicted for document falsification. However, the NBI pushed for reconsideration, arguing that the misrepresentation of nationality should also be prosecuted.
At first, the DOJ dismissed the false representation angle, reasoning that the land had been acquired before the firm’s incorporation. But the NBI countered this stance, warning that such an interpretation could create a “dangerous precedent,” allowing entities to bypass restrictions by purchasing land prior to forming corporations.
The bureau further alleged that some incorporators attempted to evade legal limits on land ownership through falsified records and simulated stock ownership, ultimately aiming to present the firm as a legitimate Filipino enterprise.
Guo is currently detained after being convicted of qualified trafficking by a Pasig court in November, where she was sentenced to life imprisonment and fined P2 million. She remains in custody at the Pasig City Jail and is also facing multiple charges, including graft, money laundering, and administrative offenses linked to her alleged involvement with a POGO-related leasing operation during her term as mayor.
