Man Arrested for Allegedly Robbing the House of Ex-Girlfriend’s Parents in Quezon City
A 29-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly broke into and robbed the house of his ex-girlfriend’s parents in Quezon City.
On the afternoon of April 24, 2026, the incident happened at a residence in North Olympus, Barangay Kaligayahan. According to police, nobody was staying in the house at the time because the homeowners were currently abroad.
Authorities said the crime was discovered after one of the victims’ children visited the house to check on the property. Upon arriving, the family member noticed that someone was inside the home and quickly contacted the police for assistance.
Police officers from the Pasong Putik Police Station responded to the area and entered the house. During their inspection, they found the suspect hiding inside a storage cabinet. He was immediately arrested by authorities.
Investigators later learned that the suspect allegedly entered the house by removing parts of the roof and ceiling. After getting inside, he reportedly searched through different rooms and gathered valuables from the property.
Recovered from the suspect were cash, ATM cards, and pieces of jewelry with a total estimated value of nearly P60,000.
During the investigation, the suspect admitted his involvement in the crime. He reportedly told authorities that he was struggling financially and needed money because of gambling problems. He also shared that he was facing additional pressure since his current partner is about to give birth.
The man apologized to his former girlfriend and her family for what happened. He also expressed willingness to pay for the damaged items inside the house.
According to the police, the suspect had no previous criminal record before the incident. Despite his apology, robbery charges have already been filed against him.
The suspect is currently detained at the Pasong Putik Police Station while authorities continue handling the case.
