Man Loses Dentures After Fight w/ Cousin Over Land Dispute in Aklan
A man loses his denture after having an intense fight with his cousin over a land dispute in Kalibo, Aklan.
A family conflict in Kalibo, Aklan turned violent after two cousins reportedly got into a fistfight over a long-standing land dispute, leading to one man losing his dentures during the commotion.
On early Thursday morning, April 30, 2026, the trouble began during a drinking session involving two men identified by the aliases Toto, 23, and Boyet, 31 along Bougainvilla Street in Barangay Andagao, Kalibo.
Authorities said the situation became heated when another cousin, identified as Nonoy, 33, arrived at the area around 10:30 in the evening. What started as a verbal argument about a property issue quickly turned into a physical confrontation.
Based on the police investigation, Nonoy allegedly became aggressive during the argument and reportedly threatened the two men. The tension escalated further when he allegedly knocked over their table and punched Boyet in the mouth, causing Boyet’s dentures to fall out.
Boyet later fought back, resulting in a fistfight between the two men. Concerned neighbors quickly stepped in and managed to stop the fight before the situation became worse.
However, the tension did not end there. A few moments later, Nonoy allegedly returned and got into another argument, this time with Toto. Their exchange also turned physical before authorities arrived at the scene.
Personnel from the Kalibo Municipal Police Station and members of the KAP immediately responded after receiving reports about the disturbance. When they arrived, the fight had already been stopped, and all individuals involved were brought to the police station for proper investigation.
Police said Toto was temporarily placed under custody to calm down after the incident. Despite the violence, both sides later agreed to settle the matter through the Barangay Justice System instead of filing a formal court case.
