Delivery Rider Sustain Injuries After Being Robbed & Beaten by 2 Men
A delivery rider was injured after being robbed and beaten by three men along in Barangay 172, Tondo, Manila.
On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, a 30-year-old delivery rider sustained injuries after being robbed and beaten by three men along Earnshaw Boulevard in Barangay 172, Tondo.
The victim, identified as Michael Ong, was reportedly parking his motorcycle when the attack suddenly happened. Based on CCTV footage from the barangay, one of the suspects quickly approached and dragged him toward the sidewalk.
After a few moments, two more men joined in and allegedly attacked him while taking his valuables.
The entire incident lasted for nearly a minute before the suspects immediately fled the area. Ong later shared that he was caught off guard when one man suddenly grabbed him, only to realize that there were three attackers involved.
While he was being beaten, the suspects reportedly took his jewelry and cash. According to Ong, the stolen items included around P65,000 worth of jewelry and more than P18,000 in cash.
Aside from losing his valuables, the rider also suffered serious injuries to his head and face. He believes the suspects used brass knuckles during the attack because of the severity of his wounds.
Authorities later conducted a follow-up operation that led to the arrest of one of the suspects. Although police officers declined to give an official interview, Ong said he learned from the arrested suspect that the group supposedly targeted him after losing money in a cockfighting game.
Despite this information, Ong strongly denied having any previous conflict with the suspects. He also made it clear that he does not plan to settle the matter privately because he worked hard for everything that was taken from him.
Barangay officials said there was no official blotter recorded in their office since Ong is not a resident of the area. However, he later visited the barangay together with police officers to review the CCTV footage.
