Female Student Gets Robbed While Returning Home From Job Hunting in Antipolo
A 20-year-old female student got robber while walking home in Antipolo City after returning from a job hunting.
On the night of April 28, 2026, the holdup incident happened in Sitio Maagay Tres, Barangay Inarawan, and later led to the arrest of a 39-year-old man.
The victim, a second-year accountancy student, had just finished job hunting in Mandaluyong and was on her way home around 11 p.m. She said she was only about five minutes away from their house when a man suddenly approached her in a dark part of the road and pointed a gun at her.
The student had no choice but to hand over her bag because of fear. Inside were important documents, P100 cash, and a cellphone worth more than P6,000. The experience left her badly shaken and traumatized.
“Nanginginig po ako sa takot. Na-trauma po talaga ako. Alam ko naman pong mahirap ang buhay, pero kawawa rin po ‘yung mga nabibiktima nila,” the victim said.
Authorities were able to identify the suspect through CCTV footage from Barangay Inarawan. The videos reportedly showed the man carrying the stolen cellphone before passing it to a female companion.
Since the suspect was also a resident of the area, officers quickly tracked him down and arrested him at his home.
Barangay safety officers said they found a bottle of rugby at the suspect’s house, along with groceries such as rice and canned goods. Investigators believe the cellphone may have already been sold at a low price.
Despite the evidence and identification by the victim, the suspect denied the accusations. He claimed that the rugby found in the house was only being used for home repairs and insisted that he would never live off stolen items.

Police also revealed that although this was reportedly his first time being jailed, he already had a previous barangay record involving the physical abuse of a child.
The suspect is now detained at the Antipolo Police Community Precinct 2 and is facing a robbery case.
