2 Men Attacked w/ Steel Pipe During Drinking Session in Kalibo
Two men were reportedly attacked with a steel pipe while having a drinking session in Capitol Site, Kalibo.
On early Tuesday morning (May 5, 2026), the incident caused fear in the area and is now under investigation by authorities.
The victims, identified as Carl and Ryan, are both around 20 years old and residents of Balete, Aklan. They are currently working and staying at a local eatery in Kalibo. According to reports, they were drinking with a balut vendor named Emanuel when the situation suddenly changed.
During their gathering, the suspect allegedly started acting aggressively while holding a metal pipe. He was said to be shouting and making threatening remarks. Sensing danger, Carl decided to leave the area, but the suspect attempted to strike him with the pipe.
Carl managed to run to a nearby establishment to avoid getting hurt. Ryan, on the other hand, tried to ask what the problem was, but he was also targeted. The suspect attempted to hit him as well, causing him to fall from his seat before running away to safety.
The two victims later sought help from the owner of the place where they worked.
Reports also said that the suspect left but returned shortly after, this time riding a motorcycle and carrying a bladed weapon on his back. This added more fear and tension, prompting the victims to call the police for assistance.
When authorities arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene. The incident was later recorded at the Kalibo Municipal Police Station and referred to the Barangay Justice System for possible settlement.
Investigations are still ongoing to determine the suspect’s motive and current whereabouts.
