Peanut Gallery Media Network (PGMN) founder Franco Mabanta had a 2018 Facebook post about Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte, saying that they shared a bed.
Mabanta became a trending topic on social media over the past few days. This came after he was arrested during an entrapment operation for allegedly being the man behind an extortion attempt against Cong. Martin Romualdez.
Allegedly, Mabanta asked for ₱350 million from the politician in exchange for the alleged 90-minute “exposé” video linking the lawmaker to corruption.
Amid the issue, DDS or die-hard Duterte supporters were trying to link Franco Mabanta to the administration of President Bongbong Marcos. Although Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro admitted that Mabanta was once hired by Marcos, but this just lasted for 6 months.
The reason that Castro cited was that the President did not like Mabanta’s style. Supporters of the Marcos administration retaliated and claimed that Mabanta is working under the Dutertes.
Following this, netizens talked about the Facebook post that Mabanta shared back on Feb. 26, 2018. The post featured Mabanta’s photo with former President Rodrigo Duterte.
In the caption of his post, the social media strategist wrote, “His son slept over last weekend, and we shared a bed.”
Mabanta asked this to Baste, “Wanna know something about my dad that no one else does?” He said that Duterte’s dream was to die a hero. It was said that the social media strategist’s answer was,” Beautiful. Although that’s never gonna happen. ‘Cause your dad’s Rody Duterte. Men like him live forever.”
