Customer Tricks Store Vendor After Cashing In Through GCash & Handing Over a Grocery List Before Leaving Without Paying
A store vendor in Taguig became the victim of a dishonest customer who allegedly used a clever trick to leave the store without paying for his transaction and grocery items.
Recently, Inday Albor, a Facebook user, shared a video of the male customer who allegedly tricked her inside her store. The post quickly went viral online and received various reactions from the online community.
According to Albor, the man first entered the store and requested a GCash cash-in transaction. At first, everything appeared normal. The vendor processed the request and waited for the cash-in to reflect successfully on the customer’s account.
Since digital wallet transactions have become common in many neighborhood stores, the vendor did not suspect anything unusual during the interaction.
After the transaction was completed, the customer reportedly handed over a list of grocery items that he wanted to buy. While the vendor turned her attention to preparing the items on the list, the man quietly left the area without settling his payment. By the time the vendor noticed what had happened, the customer was already gone.
The vendor later posted the video footage online to raise awareness about the incident. She explained that she wanted other store owners and vendors to be more careful when dealing with unfamiliar customers using similar tactics.
Many online users expressed sympathy for the vendor, especially since small stores often operate on limited earnings and losses like this can greatly affect their daily income.
The incident reportedly happened along Navy Road in South Signal Village, Taguig. Several netizens also encouraged local residents to help identify the suspect to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
