Agot Isidro Furious Over Cayetano Victory in Explosive Senate Coup

AGOT ISIDRO – Political tensions reached a boiling point after Agot Isidro publicly slammed the senators involved in the dramatic Senate leadership change.

Actress and outspoken Kakampink supporter Agot Isidro expressed strong disappointment over the dramatic leadership shake-up in the Philippine Senate, following the ouster of former Senate President Tito Sotto and the installation of Alan Peter Cayetano as the new Senate President.

The political tension erupted on Monday, May 11, after Senator Joel Villanueva suddenly moved to declare all Senate positions vacant, a motion that was approved by the majority bloc. The Senate then proceeded to vote for the next leader of the chamber, with Cayetano and Sotto emerging as contenders for the top post.

With 13 votes from the majority, Sotto was removed from his position and replaced by Cayetano. One of the most talked-about moments during the proceedings was the dramatic return of Senator Ronald dela Rosa, popularly known as Bato, who had reportedly been absent from Senate sessions for six months following the release of an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC). The warrant allegedly linked him as a co-perpetrator of former President Rodrigo Duterte in crimes against humanity connected to the administration’s controversial war on drugs.

The new majority bloc now consists of former minority members, including Senators Imee Marcos, Bong Go, Robin Padilla, Rodante Marcoleta, Jinggoy Estrada, Chiz Escudero, Dela Rosa, and Villanueva. They were joined by Senators Pia Cayetano, Mark Villar, Camille Villar, and Loren Legarda, who was later named Senate President Pro Tempore.

Agot did not hide her anger over the development and took to X to vent her frustration against the 13 senators who voted for Cayetano.

“I have ducking NO respect for these 13 hooligans who call themselves Senators of the Philippines. DUCK YOU,” she wrote.

In another post, the actress directly addressed Cayetano and criticized his use of Bible verses.

“APC, can you please stop uttering Bible verses kasi sure ako, hindi natutuwa si God sa yo,” she said.

Agot also used the hashtag “#13SatanasSaSenado” in expressing her sentiments online.

As of writing, Cayetano’s camp has yet to release any reaction or statement regarding Agot’s remarks.
