An LGBTQIA member known online as “Sofia” has apologized to the public after alleged deception in marriage.
The viral LGBT member has apologized after the story of the relationship and marriage with a fellow man identified as “Michael” became widely discussed on social media. The issue quickly went viral after many people discovered that Sofia, who introduced herself as a woman, was actually born male.
The marriage was reportedly performed following Islamic traditions, where same-sex marriage is not accepted.
According to Sofia, who was also known by the alias “Dora,” the relationship started through the popular online game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. The two reportedly became close while playing together online, and their friendship eventually turned into a romantic relationship.
After weeks of chatting and spending time together virtually, the pair finally decided to meet in person. Their connection reportedly continued to grow until they officially became a couple.
Reports said Michael only learned the truth about Sofia’s biological identity nearly two months into their relationship. Despite the discovery, the relationship allegedly continued and lasted for around eight months.
Because of their closeness and the influence of Michael’s family, the relationship eventually led to a marriage ceremony conducted under Islamic customs. However, the issue later became controversial after information about Sofia’s past began circulating online.
Some netizens expressed sympathy for both parties, while others questioned the circumstances surrounding the marriage and the hidden identity involved in the relationship.
Following the controversy, Sofia publicly apologized as discussions about the case continued online. Meanwhile, Michael has not yet released any official statement regarding the issue and the stories being shared on social media.
