Aswang Allegedly Attacks Tricycle Driver in Aklan
A tricycle driver from Barangay Fatima in New Washington, Aklan was injured after his alleged encounter with ‘Aswang’.
On May 19, 2026, the tricycle driver was left with several injuries after he claimed to have struggled with what he believed was an aswang inside his home late at night.
The man, identified as Ronnel Nicolas, said he was already sleeping peacefully at around 10 p.m. when he suddenly felt an unexplained force attack him inside his housing unit. According to him, the frightening experience quickly turned violent as he tried to fight back.
During the struggle, Ronnel said he was dragged and pushed toward the window of his house. The impact caused the jalousie glass to shatter, and he was thrown outside, leaving him with cuts and wounds on different parts of his body.
Before the incident happened, Ronnel shared that he had already noticed strange things around their home. He often heard unusual noises near their door late at night and even saw scratch-like marks around the area.
Ronnel strongly believed that the attack was not something ordinary. He also clarified that he was not under the influence of alcohol during the incident. According to him, he had already stopped drinking and left his old habits behind a long time ago.
Some residents nearby said they heard loud noises that night, including sounds similar to cats fighting and glass breaking. However, they did not immediately pay attention because they thought it was just a normal disturbance in the neighborhood.
There were also residents who expressed doubt about the story. One resident said they do not believe there is an aswang in their area because no similar incident had been reported there for many years.
The tricycle driver said he understands that not everyone will believe in his experience. After the incident, he temporarily left his home while recovering from the terrifying experience.
