Man Trapped Inside Drainage Canal in Tacloban City
A 49-year-old man was trapped inside a drainage canal at the corner of Real and Burgos Street in Tacloban City.
Last week, personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Philippine National Police was successfully rescued after getting trapped inside a drainage canal.
The rescuers quickly responded to the incident after residents in the area heard the man crying for help from inside the drainage. Concerned residents immediately contacted authorities to ask for assistance.

The Regional Special Rescue Force of BFP Region 8 was the first to arrive at the scene after receiving a call through the 911 emergency hotline. Rescuers used heavy tools, including a sledgehammer and other equipment, to break open parts of the concrete drainage and safely reach the trapped man.
The rescue operation drew attention from nearby residents as authorities carefully worked to free the victim without causing further harm. After several tense moments, the man was finally pulled out from the drainage.

Authorities later found that the man was in a state of shock after the incident. He was immediately brought to the nearest hospital so doctors could examine him and make sure he was safe and properly treated.
Luckily, the man is now in stable condition and recovering well after the frightening experience.
As of now, authorities are still investigating to determine how the man ended up trapped inside the drainage canal. Residents in the area also expressed concern over the incident, saying they hope similar situations can be prevented in the future.
