Migz Zubiri had this reaction after receiving criticism for mentioning Inday Badiday
Senator Migz Zubiri apologized to the family of the late iconic showbiz talk show host Inday Badiday.
This issue started when Zubiri mentioned Inday Badiday during a recent Senate debate, after Sen. Imee Marcos accused him of being one of the senators who support charter change.
Zubiri denied this and mentioned that the Senate had become “Inday Badiday” as it turned out to be a “circus.”

This did not sit well with Inday Badiday’s grandchild, showbiz personality IC Mendoza, who slammed the Senator for dragging his grandmother’s name into the issue, and associating her with “circus,” when she was well-respected during her time.
Following the criticism against him, Sen. Migz Zubiri issued an apology statement, based on the article in PEP.
The lawmaker said that what happened was just a “slip of the tongue during a heated argument.
“Sa buong pamilya of the late Inday Badiday, I am sincerely sorry for mentioning her name during my manifestation sa Senado,” he said. He also said that he will take full responsibility because he has been more careful with his words.
Then, Zubiri showered the late showbiz talk show host with praise. “I want to say this from the heart: I respect Inday Badiday, and like many from my generation, lumaki rin po ako na nakikita siya sa TV, bahagi siya ng pop culture natin, and she was loved by so many Filipinos,” the lawmaker said.
Sen. Migz Zubiri also said that Inday Badiday was lovable with her own charm, wit, and warmth. He added that he fully recognized the contribution of the late showbiz talk show host to Philippine television and entertainment journalism.
“My frustration was about the video shown on the Senate floor, and I never meant to disrespect her memory or reduce her legacy to politics,” he explained.

Zubiri also said that IC Mendoza was right that his grandmother was dragged into the matters of politics. “Kaya muli, I apologize deeply to the family, and I will be more mindful moving forward,” he said.
Dolly Anne Carvajal, the daughter of Inday Badiday, shared that IC Mendoza accepted the Senator’s apology.
However, Dolly Anne said that she will release a statement on May 28. On the other hand, she stressed that she is friends with Zubiri
