Some of the violators were seen loading sacks of garbage onto tricycles before dumping them along C. Laserna Street. Authorities said the trash came from different areas and was being thrown onto the vacant lot without permission.

The operation was led by the Municipal Ecological Solid Waste Management team together with the Kalibo Municipal Police and members of the Barangay Poblacion BPAT. Residents in the area have long been concerned about the foul smell, scattered trash, and possible health risks caused by the garbage being left on the vacant property. Many said the illegal dumping has affected the cleanliness of the community and has become an eyesore for passersby and customers of nearby establishments.
