Residents Rescue Dog Trapped in Creek for Two Days
Residents in Antipolo, Rizal, rescued a dog that was reportedly trapped in a creek for two days.
A video posted by resident Jeffrey Eniceo on August 13 showed the dog trembling near the edge of the creek while strong water flowed below. Several residents worked together to rescue the animal using a rope attached to a long pipe. They carefully pulled the dog to safety.
After the rescue, residents gave the dog food and water. However, the animal remained scared and difficult to approach. Eniceo said the dog struggled when he tried to get closer, possibly because it was still frightened after being trapped in the creek.

The dog reportedly continues to stay on the streets and has become dirty from wandering around. Eniceo is trying to gain its trust by regularly feeding it and attempting to safely approach it.
He also hopes the dog’s owner will see the videos and come forward to take the animal home. Until the owner is found, Eniceo is asking for help from people who may be willing to care for and shelter the dog.
“Noong nakaahon siya sa creek pilit siyang nagpumiglas, iniisip niya kaya na niya [ang] sarili niya. Sana makita ng may-ari ‘yong video para maiuwi na niya ‘yong aso,” Jeffrey said.

As of the morning of August 14, Eniceo said he was still trying to catch and feed the dog. He hopes someone can temporarily take care of it while efforts continue to find its owner.
The dog’s rescue has also gained attention online, with people expressing concern for its safety. Eniceo appealed to the public not to hurt or chase the animal while it remains on the streets.
