Ogie Diaz showed support for Sen. Erwin Tulfo
Talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz admitted that he is eyeing Sen. Erwin Tulfo as a potential candidate for Vice President in the 2028 elections.
Ogie is vocal about his political views. He openly supports certain candidates, and political groups. He uses his social media platforms to express his thoughts, or call out a certain personality.
In the latest episode of his YouTube talk show Showbiz Update, last Friday, August 14, based on the article in Balita, Ogie greeted Sen. Erwin, who celebrated his 63rd birthday on August 10.
“Ang ating pagbati, mahal na mahal ko ‘yan, si Erwin Tulfo na birthday. Pinu-push kong tumakbong Vice President. Wa echos,” Ogie Diaz said.
The talent manager-vlogger also recalled the time when he saw Sen. Erwin . “Broadcaster pa lang ‘yan, nauubos na ang pera niyan sa katutulong. Ako mismo nakikita ko ‘yong mga tao, pumipila sa kaniya. Pati ‘yong mga production people na nangangailangan. Kailangan dumukot ni Erwin Tulfo,” he shared.
Ogie also shared that he and Sen. Erwin worked together on a morning show for four years. It was there that he witnessed the senator’s charitable nature.
However, the senator has long maintained that he would only serve in the Senate, a stance shared by his brother, Sen. Raffy Tulfo.
“Ang plano lang po namin [ni Sen. Raffy], hanggang dito lang talaga po kami sa Senado,” Sen. Erwin said in an interview last May. He had this statement after their inclusion as frontrunners in the 2028 presidential preference surveys.
Meanwhile, in a previous social media post, Ogie Diaz urged Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo to run for president in the 2028 elections. To recall, Ogie supported Robredo’s 2022 presidential candidacy. He was one of the celebrities who went and spoke at the Leni-Kiko campaign events.
