Rider Pushes Motorcycle Through Waist-Deep Flood in Makati
A rider was forced to push his motorcycle through waist-deep floodwaters at the Magallanes Tunnel in Makati City.
Joan Guinto, a Threads user, shared a video of a rider pushing his motorcycle through floodwaters. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
In a video, the rider could be seen carefully making his way through the deep flood while pushing his motorcycle. The water had already reached beyond waist level, making travel difficult and dangerous for motorists to pass through the tunnel.

Guinto pointed out that flood control projects, drainage systems, and pumping stations continue to receive funding every year, yet many roads still become flooded whenever strong rains occur.
For many commuters and workers, traveling home safely becomes a challenge whenever streets and underpasses are filled with floodwater. Some are forced to walk through dirty water, while others risk damage to their vehicles just to reach their destinations.
The uploader stressed that residents are not asking for luxury or special treatment. They simply want roads that remain passable during heavy rains, reliable drainage systems, and public projects that deliver real and lasting results.
“We’re not asking for luxury. We’re asking for basic infrastructure, proper flood control, and leaders who actually do their jobs instead of pocketing public funds. People deserve accountability not another excuse every time the streets turn into rivers,” Joan said.

“Abot-bewang yung baha sa Magallanes. And honestly, nakakaputangina lang isipin na every year may budget for flood control, drainage, pumping stations, etc., pero every time na malakas ang ulan, ganito pa rin.
Hindi naman natin hinihingi yung impossible. We just want basic things to work. Yung hindi ka matatakot umuwi kasi baka abutan ka ng baha. Yung hindi mo kailangang lumusong sa maruming tubig just to get home.
Nasaan yung actual results? Saan napupunta yung pera? Sino ang accountable kapag palpak yung proyekto?
Kasi pera natin ‘yan. Buhay natin ang nakataya. Hindi dapat tayo yung laging nag-a-adjust sa kapalpakan at possible corruption ng mga nakaupo.”
