Engaged Couple Lost Their Lives in Motorcycle Crash Weeks Before Planned Wedding
An engaged couple in Barangay Busay, Cebu City, lost their lives in a motorcycle accident a few weeks before their wedding.
A CCTV footage showed the motorcycle traveling downhill on a steep road at a high speed. After a few moments, the vehicle slammed into an electric post, causing both riders to be thrown away from the motorcycle.
Authorities identified the victims as a 27-year-old man who was driving the motorcycle and his 25-year-old fiancée who was riding as a passenger. According to the initial investigation, the couple was traveling along a curved section of the road near the lower area of Tops, a popular tourist destination in Cebu City.
Investigators learned that the couple was on their way home when the accident happened. The woman reportedly worked at Tops as a sales manager, and her fiancé had picked her up before the incident.
Based on the findings of authorities, the motorcycle reportedly encountered a vehicle while navigating the curved road. The driver allegedly attempted to avoid a collision but lost control of the motorcycle.
The vehicle then struck an electric post and flipped multiple times before coming to a stop on the road.
The Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Cebu City Police Office reported that the motorcycle spun through the air twice before landing. Both victims suffered serious injuries from the impact.
Emergency responders immediately rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the crash. However, the couple no longer showed any vital signs when rescuers arrived. They were brought to a hospital, where doctors declared dead on arrival.
Family members later shared that the couple had been planning to get married in the coming months. Their sudden death has left loved ones grieving and shocked by the loss.
