Man at Large for Stealing P2,000 in Coins & Valuables From Stor

A man reportedly stole around P2,000 worth of coins and other valuable personal belongings from a small store in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

The 62-year-old store owner was alone and attending to the customer when the suspect entered the store and pretended to buy soft drinks. CCTV footage showed the man taking advantage of the situation when the owner turned his back to get the drink.

The suspect quickly reached the container where the store’s earnings were kept and took it along with other personal belongings before leaving the area.

The family said they were thankful that the elderly store owner, who is a stroke survivor, was not hurt during the incident. They also explained that there was no ice delivery that day because of the bad weather, which left their cooler outside and made it easier for the suspect to approach the store.

“Dahil nga po bumabagyo, wala pong deliver ng yelo. ‘Yung cooler namin, nasa labas… pagkatalikod ng papa ko, dinukwang na po niya agad ‘yung pinaglalagyan po namin ng pera,” Grace Sanchez, the victim daughter said.

The family said the store had already been robbed several times, prompting them to report the latest incident to barangay officials. The suspect was reportedly identified by the barangay, but he was not found when authorities went to his home.

Barangay officials said the suspect is a 21-year-old man who is currently hiding. He reportedly has no previous record of any incident in the barangay.

Although the family decided not to file a formal complaint, they shared the CCTV footage on social media to warn other residents and business owners in the area.

The family also appealed to the suspect to return the container and belongings, especially the items that were important to them.

“Ibalik mo na lang ‘yung pinaglagyan namin ng pera na may mahalagang bagay na kay mama… Kung kaya mo na rin sigurong humingi ng tawad sa lahat ng napagnakawan mo,” Sanchez said.

Barangay officials reminded residents and store owners to stay alert and strengthen their security measures, especially during early morning hours.
