Gas Station to Impose Oil Price Hike Set This Week
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Several gasoline stations in the country will impose another oil price hike starting Tuesday (August 24, 2026).
Filipino motorists are set to face another increase at the pump as fuel prices move higher, adding another expense for drivers during the final week of August.
The Department of Energy (DOE) expects diesel to post the biggest increase at P2.31 per liter. Gasoline prices are also expected to rise by P1.08 per liter, while kerosene will become more expensive by P0.95 per liter.
The adjustment will affect all major gasoline grades, including RON 91, RON 95, and RON 97. Diesel products, including Diesel Plus, will likewise carry the higher price.
Oil companies have announced their own adjustments, which will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday. Shell Pilipinas will raise diesel by P2.30 per liter, gasoline by P1.10, and kerosene by P1.
Petrogazz will implement a P2.31 increase in diesel and P1.08 for gasoline. Seaoil will also add P2.31 to diesel and P1.08 to gasoline, while its kerosene price will increase by P0.91 per liter.
The latest changes are based on movements in global oil prices. The continuing conflict in the Middle East has been identified as one of the factors putting pressure on oil markets, with the region remaining an important source of crude oil.
Higher fuel costs can also affect transport operators and businesses that depend on vehicles for deliveries and daily operations.
Despite the new price increases, the DOE said the country has enough fuel stocks for about 47.22 days, providing a sufficient supply for the coming weeks.
The new pump prices will be implemented beginning August 25, with the adjustment covering the period until August 31.
