Sen. Robin Padilla expressed that he’s ready to face the case filed against him
Senator Robin Padilla asserted that he is not afraid to be imprisoned once again if the court were to issue a decision to jail him, in line with the obstruction of justice complaint filed against him.
To recall, Padilla personally attended the preliminary investigation at the Department of Justice (DOJ) last September 25, 2026, Friday. This was in connection with his alleged involvement in the escape of Senator Bato dela Rosa last March 14, 2026.
Dela Rosa has a warrant of arrest issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC), in line with his alleged involvement in the crime against humanity allegedly committed by former President Rodrigo Duterte.
As of this writing, Dela Rosa is still hiding. Previously, Padilla stated that even if he knew where his fellow senator was, he would not tell.
In Sen. Robin Padilla‘s Facebook live stream on Saturday, September 26, 2026, based on the report from Balita, he thanked his supporters who joined him when he went to the DOJ. He said that he was not expecting that kind of support.
Padilla said that he did not know what wrong he committed since he has been very careful in order not to transgress the law. “Bagamat ako po ay naguguluhan na rin sapagkat hindi ko po alam kung saan ako nagkamali. Opo, hindi ko alam. Maingat na maingat po ako na magkamali sapagkat nangulungan na po tayo at ayaw na nating magkaroon pa ng suliranin sa batas,” the actor-politician said.
The senator also said that all he wanted was to serve the people and to finish his duty as a lawmaker. He also said that he does not view the current legal issues that he has is something that is bad because he believes that everything happens for a reason.
Sen. Robin Padilla also expressed that he is not afraid to face the court’s decision. “Kung ito po ay matutuloy talaga tayo sa kulungan ay alhamdulillah. Hindi po natin kinakatakutan iyan sapagkat ang pangungulungan, ang tingin po natin diyan, ay mapapalapit tayo uli sa Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala,” he said.
The senator also said that he will have more time to read and do his obligatory prayer if he is ever imprisoned.
