Two groups of young people get into a street brawl along Barangay 737 in Manila after having an intense confrontation.
On Tuesday afternoon, September 29, 2026, a confrontation between two groups of young people turned into a street brawl, prompting concern among local officials and residents. The incident took place near Ortega Court in Barangay 737.
CCTV footage captured the fight, which involved youths from neighboring Barangays 735 and 736.
According to authorities, the situation began when two teenage residents of Barangay 736 were spending time near their bicycles along the roadside. A short while later, two youths from Barangay 735 arrived in the area.
The tense encounter quickly escalated into a physical fight, with members of both groups chasing and attacking one another in public. An adult man believed to be the father of one of the teenagers from Barangay 735 reportedly joined the fight.
Another man, said to be acquainted with the youths from Barangay 736, also became involved and allegedly targeted the father during the confrontation.
The disturbance lasted for several minutes and only ended when officials from Barangay 737 stepped in to separate those involved and restore order.
A minor from Barangay 736 suffered injuries during the incident. Reports indicated that the teenager sustained a wound after allegedly being punched by the father of a youth from the opposing group.
Local officials later learned that the conflict may have started from an exchange of hostile looks between the two groups. Following the incident, barangay leaders from both communities immediately summoned the youths involved, along with their parents, to discuss the matter.
After mediation, both sides agreed not to file formal complaints and instead signed a written agreement to settle the dispute peacefully. Barangay officials also warned that adults could face consequences if similar incidents occur again.
Officials in Barangay 737 expressed concern over the repeated tensions between youths from the neighboring barangays. To prevent future brawls, the barangay plans to strengthen security monitoring and increase patrols in areas where conflicts are likely to occur.
