Burger Store Owner Warns Public About New Scam Targeting Business Workers & Vendors
A burger store owner has warned the public about a new scam targeting business owners, employees, crew members, and vendors.
Recently, Siak ni Alena, a Facebook user, shared a video of a new scam targeting businesses. The post quickly circulated on social media and garnered various reactions from the online community.
According to reports, a man has been approaching workers while pretending to have permission or instructions from the owner of a business. By using this false identity, he is able to gain the trust of employees and sellers who may not immediately suspect that something is wrong.
The reported scheme involves the suspect asking workers to release money or make payments for what he claims are orders, deliveries, or business transactions requested by their employer. Because the request appears to be connected to the business owner, some employees may feel pressured to comply without first checking if the instruction is legitimate.
Authorities said this type of deception can result in financial losses for businesses and workers. They reminded the public that scammers often take advantage of trust and urgency to convince their targets to hand over money quickly.
Employees, store staff, street food vendors, and market sellers are being encouraged to stay alert and avoid immediately believing requests from unfamiliar individuals. Before releasing cash or processing any payment, workers should first verify the transaction with the business owner or an authorized representative.
Officials also stressed the importance of confirming instructions through trusted communication channels. Taking a few minutes to verify a request can help prevent losses and protect both businesses and employees from fraud.
Anyone who notices suspicious behavior or encounters a possible scam attempt is encouraged to report the incident to the nearest police station. Authorities are also asking for the public’s cooperation in identifying the man seen in a video related to the case.
