Antonio Trillanes has this allegation against VP Sara Duterte

Former Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV revealed that the Tapang at Malasakit Alliance for the Philippines, Inc., an organization associated with Vice President Sara Duterte, allegedly received P150 million from the People’s Republic of China.

Trillanes was originally scheduled to testify at the impeachment trial against VP Sara, but the prosecution decided not to proceed with the initial plan.

As a result of that, the former senator held a press conference instead, based on the article in Balita.

During the press conference held at Club Filipino on Friday, October 2, he discussed the funds that had flowed into the said foundation connected to VP Sara Duterte.

“Tumanggap sila ng P150 million from the People’s Republic of China. Itong foundation ni Sara Duterte, nakatanggap siya,” Antonio Trillanes said.

It is reportedly a political coalition launched in October 2017, back when VP Sara was still the mayor of Davao City. Its board of trustees is composed of VP Sara, Jefry Tupas, Reynold Munsayac, Maria Laarni Cayetano, and many others.

Furthermore, Trillanes revealed that Cale88 allegedly received over P319 million from the Chinese government and Chinese corporations.

Cale88 is a company reportedly linked to the Vice President’s husband, Atty. Mans Carpio.

“Base na sa mga nakalap naming impormasyon, at ito ay mapapatotohanan sa impeachment court, abangan n’yo po ‘to. Galing sa Chinese government at mga korporasyon na base at nag-o-operate sa China, pumasok [ang] ₱319 million mahigit papunta do’n sa Cale88 na kompanya ni Mans Carpio,” the former senator said.

According to Trillanes, these serve as clear grounds to disqualify VP Sara from her current position.

“Ito na ang paraan ng China ng pagsuporta sa mag-asawang Duterte. Maliwanag po ito. Kaya dapat kilabutan po tayo dito kasi Vice President po siya. May national security implications. Bawal po ‘yan,” Trillanes said.

Meanwhile, the Vice President’s camp has not yet issued a statement or reaction regarding this matter.
