Several young residents in Jaro, Iloilo City have raised concerns about a basketball court that is reportedly being used as a parking area, preventing them from enjoying the facility during the afternoons.
The complaint involves the basketball court located in Sitio Matawhay, Barangay Tabuc Suba. According to the youth, the court has become crowded with parked motorcycles, making it difficult for them to play basketball and other recreational activities during the afternoons.

During a visit to the area, a local media team observed numerous motorcycles occupying portions of the court. Aside from the parking issue, the team also noticed several areas with dog waste scattered around the playing surface and nearby surroundings.
Residents said the condition of the court has become frustrating, especially for young people who regularly use the facility for sports and exercise.
Many of them consider the court an important space where they can spend time with friends, stay active, and engage in healthy activities after school or work.

The presence of parked motorcycles and the lack of cleanliness have reportedly limited the use of the court. Some residents expressed concern that the situation could discourage young people from participating in sports and community activities.
Several youths said they had already brought the matter to the attention of barangay officials. However, they claimed that no visible action has been taken so far to address the concerns.
