Sen. Robin Padilla made this statement even before the accusation
Senator Robin Padilla vehemently denied receiving money from China even though his name was not explicitly mentioned.
This follows his admission that he is part of the Tapang at Malasakit Foundation, which reportedly received a P150-million donation from the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines.
To recall, the foundation associated with Vice President Sara Duterte was accused by former Senator Antonio Trillanes of receiving a P150-million donation in 2019 for the construction of classrooms from the Chinese government.

VP Sara was a listed member of the Board of Trustees of the Tapang at Malasakit Foundation.
Sen. Robin Padilla verbally denied this on Tuesday, October 6, during the 34th day of the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, based on the article in Abante Tonite.
He also stressed that as he is part of the foundation, he did not receive any money from the Chinese government.

Meanwhile, the recent photo of Sen. Robin Padilla with Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte caught the attention of the online community because of the caption that the Senator’s wife, celebrity vlogger Mariel Padilla, wrote.
Mariel highlighted that the two politicians have “chemistry.” With this, netizens guessed that Sen. Padilla and Mayor Baste will be running mates in the 2028 elections. This speculation came amid VP Sara’s impeachment trial.
