Authorities Arrest 2 Women for Selling Stolen Appliances Online

Two women were arrested during an entrapment operation in Quezon City after they were caught allegedly selling stolen appliances online.

On October 6, 2026, the operation was carried out in a warehouse located in Barangay San Antonio, Quezon City. Authorities moved in after the suspects accepted payment for several appliances that were reportedly obtained through a fraudulent transaction.

According to police investigators, the case began when an online appliance seller received a message from a person claiming to be a buyer. The supposed customer placed a large order consisting of 15 split-type air-conditioning units and seven flat-screen televisions.

The buyer sent a bank deposit slip as proof of payment to make the transaction appear legitimate. Believing that the payment had already been made, the company released six air-conditioning units as the first batch of the order.

However, a bank verification conducted the following day revealed that no funds had actually been credited to the company’s account. The deposit was found to be invalid, leaving the business without payment for the appliances that had already been delivered.

Just five days later, employees of the victimized company discovered that the same air-conditioning units were being offered for sale online at a much lower price.

To confirm their suspicions, company personnel communicated with the seller and obtained details such as the serial numbers, batch numbers, and model information of the units. The information matched the records of the missing appliances.

After confirming the connection, the company sought help from the police, leading to the entrapment operation.

Authorities recovered six air-conditioning units and P120,000 that had been received by the suspects. The two women are currently being held at the custodial facility of the Masambong Police Station while the investigation continues.

The suspects reportedly claimed that they only acted as middlemen in the transaction. However, police said this will have to be proven in court. The two women are now facing charges for violating the Anti-Fencing Law.
