Vice Ganda Pokes Fun at CEOs Who Suddenly Become Rich
Vice Ganda drew attention online after making a humorous remark about skincare company CEOs whose businesses suddenly become successful before facing allegations of money laundering. The comedian made the comments during the Ms. Q&A segment of the noontime program It’s Showtime.
While interacting with the contestants, Vice jokingly described a business owner whose glutathione business would grow rapidly within two years. However, he imagined the business suddenly stopping in its third year after alleged money laundering activities came to light.
“Si number 2, parang ‘yung kayang maging CEO sa pagsusumikap. Sa loob ng dalawang taon, puputok ‘yung negosyo niya ng glutathione,” he said. “Pero sa third year, mahihinto na rin kasi malalamang money laundering. ‘Bakit ang yaman neto? Ang daming kotse ng CEO na ‘to!’”

Vice also poked fun at CEOs who suddenly become extremely wealthy and show off their luxury cars and other expensive possessions on social media. He humorously pointed out how some business owners appear to rise from poverty to great wealth without showing the steps that led to their success. “Ang kwento nya yung babang baba sa simula, tapos yung susunod na kwento nya, yung mataas na mataas na sya, yung gitna [wala], kaya pala walang gitna, money laundering pala, tropa pala ni Co,” he said.
His remarks quickly spread across social media, where netizens shared different reactions and speculated about the person he might have been referring to. Some admitted they had someone in mind but hoped their guesses were wrong. Others joked about the possibility of the comedian facing a lawsuit because of his comments.

Several netizens also used the discussion to criticize individuals suspected of displaying wealth that may not match their known business activities. The conversation reflected public curiosity about business personalities whose sudden financial success has raised questions online.
