Police Clarify Report About Teen Girl Allegedly Abandoned by White Van
The police authorities have clarified a report about a teen girl who was allegedly abandoned by a white minivan in Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur.
On Monday afternoon (October 19, 2026), police in Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur, have clarified a viral social media report about a woman who was allegedly abandoned by a white minivan along the national highway in Barangay Poblacion.
A post circulated online claims that the woman had been dropped off and left alone along the road. The post also asked for help in identifying her and locating her family.

However, Ampatuan Municipal Police Station Chief Police Major Giuseppe Tamayo denied the claim that the woman had been abandoned by the vehicle’s occupants under the circumstances described in the viral post.
According to Tamayo, the woman had allegedly been drinking with her friends in Barangay Kauran and was on her way home to Poblacion when the incident happened. She reportedly became difficult to handle because of her intoxication.
Her companions allegedly tried to calm her down and stop her from acting aggressively. However, the woman reportedly threw objects at them, punched them, and slapped them, forcing the group to leave her in the area.
Police confirmed the incident after speaking directly with the woman’s companions, who reportedly explained what had happened before she was left along the highway.
Authorities have since taken the woman into their care while they work to establish the full details of the incident.
As of the latest available information, police are still awaiting the woman’s own account of what happened. Her statement may help clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident and provide a more complete picture of the events that led to her being left along the highway.
