ROAD RAGE – A motorcycle rider spits at a Ceres bus driver during an intense road rage incident in Talisay City, Cebu.
A road rage incident involving a motorcycle rider and a Ceres bus driver near the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Talisay City, Cebu, has drawn public attention after a video of their heated confrontation went viral on social media.
Based on initial reports, the motorcycle rider became angry when the bus driver honked to ask him to give way.
Instead of moving away, the rider allegedly continued following the bus while threatening to throw a stone at the driver. The motorcycle rider reportedly stopped in front of the bus, approached the driver, and spat at him.
The confrontation raised concerns among netizens, particularly over how road disputes can quickly turn into aggressive behavior that puts other road users at risk. The incident was also reported to have disrupted traffic in the area, potentially affecting passing motorists and commuters.
The LTO Region VII issued Show Cause Orders to both the motorcycle rider, who was driving a Honda ADV, and the Ceres bus driver.
The orders require both drivers to explain their actions and allow authorities to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. An investigation is ongoing to establish whether either driver should face administrative penalties.
Both drivers are required to surrender their driver’s licenses for preventive suspension. The motorcycle and the bus involved in the incident have also been placed under alarm status as part of the administrative proceedings.
The LTO Region VII reminded motorists and professional drivers to remain disciplined and respectful while on the road. Drivers were also encouraged to handle disagreements calmly instead of resorting to threats or physical aggression.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine the appropriate action against those involved.
