Lady Netizen Reprimands Two Female Students for Taking Up Too Much Space During Jeepney Ride
A lady netizen has called out two female students for taking up too much space inside a public utility jeepney.
Recently, Claire Pajarillo Santiago, a Facebook user, shared her experience of reminding two female students to be more considerate of other passengers inside a jeepney. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
According to Santiago, she was riding a jeepney when she noticed two female students sitting close together. One student was leaning her head on the other’s shoulder, and their seating position took up more space than necessary.
When an older woman boarded the jeepney, the only available space was beside the two students. However, the woman struggled to sit comfortably because the students had not adjusted their positions to make enough room.
Santiago said the two students appeared unconcerned about the older passenger’s difficulty. Unable to ignore the situation, she reminded them to fix their seating positions so the woman could sit properly.
The students eventually followed her advice, allowing the older passengers to have more comfortable seating space.
The passenger encouraged younger people to develop greater awareness and consideration for those around them. She stressed that everyone deserves equal respect inside public vehicles, regardless of age, social status, or appearance.
She also asked young passengers to imagine how they would feel if their own parents or grandparents were placed in a similar situation. According to her, people should not wait for their loved ones to experience such treatment before learning to care about others.
