Sen. Bong Revilla Loses in 2025 Senatorial Bid for Reelection

BONG REVILLA – The Senator called for unity among the Filipino people amid his “unexpected” loss in the 2025 Senatorial Elections.

President Bongbong Marcos campaigned fervently for the Alyansa Para sa Pagbabago bets which he called his “dream team”. Sen. Revilla is one of the senatorial candidates endorsed by the Marcos administration in the 2025 Elections.

The Marcos administration endorsed 12 senatorial candidates in the 2025 Elections. However, following the unexpected arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Senator Imee Marcos left the Alyansa.

According to Sen. Marcos, she is not in favor of the unexpected turn of events last March 11. She opened a Senate investigation on Duterte’s arrest and also asked the Ombudsman to investigate five (5) government officials. The issue earned her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, a lot of criticisms. He led the Alyansa in their campaign sorties.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos boasted that all the candidates of the grand alliance have an experience in public service. According to him, he will be one lucky president if all the senatorial bets of the grand alliance will win the elections. However, not all the candidates secured a seat in the Senate.

Sen. Bong Revilla failed to enter the Top 12. He ranked 14th after getting 11,789,764 votes from 97.36% of the election returns transmitted. Sen. Imee Marcos who is also seeking for reelection landed on the 12th spot with 13,037,780 votes. Here are the Top 12 senatorial candidates based on the partial and unofficial results:

Based on a report on Inquirer, Sen. Bong Revilla admitted that his defeat in the 2025 Senatorial Race is “unexpected” but his heart is filled with gratitude to the people who supported him in his journey. He stressed that he will not forget all the smiles he met along the way during the campaign period.

Amid his 2025 Senatorial Elections loss, Sen. Bong Revilla called for unity among the Filipinos now that the elections are over. Based on the report, he stressed that “public service is a privilege granted by the public and by the Lord”.

“Mula nang ako’y pumalaot sa paglilingkod-bayan 30 years ago, lagi kong sinasabi na ang pulitika ay dapat 90 days lang sa nasyunal at 45 days lang sa lokal. Nawa, ngayong tapos na ang panahong ito, makita natin sa ating mga sarili na muling magkaisa sa ilalim ng iisa nating bandila,” Sen. Bong Revilla said.

Now that the elections are over, Pres. Bongbong Marcos thanked the Filipino people who voted and extended his hand to the winning candidates regardless of which party they are coming from. He also assured that the mission and work of the Alyansa continues even if not all their senatorial candidates clinched to the Top 12.
