12-Year-Old Girl Loses Her Life After Being Hit by Stray Bullet During Police Operation in General Santos City
HEARTBREAKING INCIDENT – A 12-year-old girl died after being hit by a stray bullet during a police operation in General Santos City.
The young victim was inside her home when the shooting happened and was said to be protecting younger children at the time.
Police were chasing a suspect who had reportedly fired a gun earlier that day. Video footage showed an officer taking cover beside a house while holding a firearm during the operation.

Residents in the area could be heard shouting, trying to warn the police that children were nearby and could be put in danger. Despite the warnings, gunfire continued as the officers pursued the suspect. The shooting only stopped when the suspect was eventually hit.
The body of the 42-year-old suspect was later found lying on the grass. Police said the man tried to escape after they responded to reports that he had been firing a gun in the area.
Unfortunately, aside from the suspect, the young girl was also found wounded inside the house. She had been shot in the head, and the bullet reportedly passed through her neck. Her grandmother shared that the child had hugged other kids to shield them under a bed during the chaos.
The girl was rushed to the hospital but did not survive her injuries. Authorities said the bullet that hit her likely came from the suspect’s firearm.
However, the victim’s family is questioning how the operation was handled. They believe the situation could have been avoided, especially after residents had already warned about the presence of children.
The police, on the other hand, explained that they were carrying out their duty to protect the community. They also assured the public that a full investigation will be conducted and that their protocols will be reviewed to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
