Alleged “Gapos Gang” Members Dead After Chase & Gunfight With Police in Bacoor, Cavite
Five suspected members of the so-called “Gapos Gang” robbery group were killed after a chase and exchange of gunfire with police in Bacoor City, Cavite, on Tuesday afternoon (November 3, 2026).
According to a report by Philstar, Bacoor police chief Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito said officers acting on intelligence reports were positioned at the entrance of a subdivision in Barangay Molino III when two men on a motorcycle and a Toyota Vios drew their suspicion. One of the men allegedly posed as a security guard, but his clothes did not match the uniform of the subdivision’s guards.

When the police tried to flag them down, the suspects reportedly opened fire, which led to a chase all the way to the Molino Flyover, GMA News reported. The vehicle of the Bacoor police chief was hit by bullets during the pursuit.
“Sabi ko i-flag down ninyo. Flinag down pero binakbakan na ‘yung tropa natin,” Desamito said, explaining that the suspects immediately fired at her men once they were flagged down.
One of the suspects fell from the getaway vehicle while the gunfight was going on. The car later flipped over on the flyover, and two of its occupants were killed. Two others allegedly tried to flee by seizing a motorcycle but were cornered by police and died in the exchange of fire.
No police officer was hurt in the encounter. Five firearms were initially recovered, and the Molino Flyover was closed to motorists until Tuesday evening. GMA News also reported that two other suspects managed to escape.
Based on a report by Inquirer, the group is suspected of targeting large commercial establishments and private subdivisions in the Calabarzon region. Two of the slain suspects were reportedly involved in a robbery at a jewelry store in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite, while another was allegedly an AWOL police officer. Police said they are still verifying the latter, as only his ID had been seen so far.
Desamito added that the group had long been monitored by authorities for suspected robbery and kidnapping for ransom.
Authorities are still working to identify the five fatalities. They are also looking into the possibility that the group is part of a bigger syndicate with more members still at large.
