Family Raises Concern After 7-Year-Old Child Diagnosed w/ Dengue Reportedly Waited for a Bed in Crowded Hospital
A 7-year-old child suffering from dengue was reportedly unable to get a hospital bed and had to remain seated because the hospital was allegedly full.
Recently, Norhainah Lomodag, a Facebook user, shared her disappointment with a hospital after her niece reportedly could not be provided with a bed due to the facility being at full capacity. The post quickly went viral and drew mixed reactions from netizens online.
According to Lomodag, her niece was brought to the hospital at around 8:00 p.m. after experiencing a high fever that reportedly reached 41°C. The child was also said to be having difficulty breathing, suffering from diarrhea, and showing signs of hallucinations.

Despite her condition, the family claimed that the young patient had to wait while seated because the hospital was already full and no bed was available. They said that even by around 11:00 p.m., the child was still waiting for a place where she could lie down and receive further care.
While expressing frustration over the situation, the family acknowledged that hospitals follow a triage system, which gives priority to patients in the most critical condition. However, they questioned whether public hospitals have enough beds and resources to accommodate the growing number of patients seeking treatment.
Norhainah also shared that this was not the first time the child had experienced delays in receiving medical attention. Because of previous hospital visits, the girl had reportedly developed fear and anxiety about going to medical facilities.

Fortunately, the child’s condition reportedly improved the following day, bringing relief to her family.

The family hopes their experience will encourage authorities to further strengthen the public healthcare system. They believe that families facing medical emergencies should be able to receive timely care and support when they need it most.
