Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Presidency, Managing Time

BONGBONG MARCOS – The President claimed that it’s hard for him to have a complete sleep due to his work but he’s the “luckiest person” he knows.

Aside from the Aquino and the Arroyo, the Marcos is another political clan that two (2) members of their family have become president. The current president of the Philippines, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr., is the only son of the late former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and former First Lady Imelda Marcos.

When he won the presidency, Marcos Jr. claimed that all his efforts to win the presidency was for his parents. His victory came six (6) years after he lost in the 2016 vice presidential race to former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo. Before becoming president of the country, he has served as governor of Ilocos Norte as well as senator.

Recently, during an interview with some students, Pres. Bongbong Marcos revealed that he really did not want to enter politics when he was young. According to him, then, he wanted a quiet life.

“Nakikita ko magulang ko ang hirap ng buhay nila, ang daming sakripisyo…Sabi [ko] tahimik lang na buhay, that’s why I went to business school,” the now-President said.

However, Pres. Bongbong Marcos admitted that the late former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and former First Lady Imelda Marcos were disappointed then over his lack of desire to be a government official.

“Medyo nadidismaya sa akin magulang ko kasi nag-iisa akong lalaki. Pero ayaw na ayaw ko,” he said.

Based on a report on PhilStar, Pres. Bongbong Marcos revealed that he did not want to rest when he assumed the presidency. Meanwhile, he learned to take short breaks like sharing stories with his children or listening to music.

“I did not want to rest. There is a lot of things to do. But you have to teach yourself, you need to take a break,Marcos Jr. said.

When it comes to the things he cannot enjoy now because of his work, Pres. Bongbong Marcos admitted that it’s hard for him to have a complete hours of sleep. He stressed that he is thinking a lot of things and he usually finds it hard to go back to sleep whenever something awakens him.

“It’s hard to have a complete hours of sleep. Sometimes you finish late and even if you finish late, you still have to do a few things. You need to read something so you will be ready for the next day,” the President said.

Despite the challenge of the presidency and everything he’s gone through, Pres. Bongbong Marcos still considers himself as the luckiest person because of his parents as well as his experiences. Based on the report, he stressed that he would not want to be born to another family.

“I still consider myself the luckiest person I know. I do not know anyone as lucky as I am because my father was like that, my mother was like that. All of your experiences, even if you did not enjoy some of them, will bring you lessons,” he expressed.

Recently, his eldest son, Ilocos Norte Congressman Sandro Marcos, was tagged in the budget insertion issue in the country. Despite the allegation, Marcos Jr. is confident that Cong. Sandro Marcos is allegedly not involved in the flood control anomalies.
