Bacolod Teacher Reported Over Alleged Shoe-Hitting Incident Involving Grade 3 Student

BACOLOD CITY – A teacher in the City of Smiles is facing a police complaint after allegedly hitting a Grade 3 student on the back with a shoe.

The student’s family reported the incident to the Bacolod City Police after the child allegedly came home with redness on the back. The student’s father said he noticed the marks on Wednesday and asked the child about what happened.

According to the father, the child said the teacher became angry while the student was playing with a classmate. The teacher allegedly responded by hitting the student on the back with a shoe.

The family then decided to report the alleged incident to the police. However, the report did not provide details about any action taken by authorities following the complaint.

The Department of Education’s Negros Island Region confirmed that officials were investigating the matter. No findings or conclusions had been released at the time of the report.

GMA Regional TV also attempted to get statements from the teacher and the school administration. However, the news team was reportedly not allowed to enter the school. Because of this, the teacher’s response and the school’s side of the story were not included in the report.

The incident has not yet resulted in any reported administrative decision against the teacher. It also remains unclear whether the teacher will face additional action while the investigation is ongoing.

For now, the allegation is still being reviewed by the proper authorities. The information available is based mainly on the account provided by the student’s father and the initial report filed with the police.

The DepEd investigation is expected to determine what happened and whether any school rules or policies were violated. Any possible disciplinary action would depend on the findings of the investigation.

Authorities have yet to announce a final decision on the case, while the teacher and school management have yet to publicly provide their account of the alleged incident.
