The photos of 16 Police Officers who were allegedly drinking inside the station circulated online
Sixteen (16) police officers from the Dolores Municipal Police Station in Eastern Samar were dismissed after allegedly drinking inside the station while holding their Christmas party on December 15.
It is common for public and private sectors to hold Christmas parties during December. Public officials, or those who are working in the government, are not prohibited from enjoying themselves and having fun. especially during the holiday seasons.
However, this does not give them, especially uniformed personnel to go beyond and against the basic rules. Apparently, this was what happened in an incident just recently in a police station in Samar.

On December 17, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Regional Office 8 released a statement regarding a reported incident regarding the alleged drinking session inside a police station in Eastern Samar.
ABS-CBN reporter Karen de Guzman shared a copy of the statement in which the PNP reiterated the policy that the consumption of alcoholic beverages while on duty and within the premises of the station is prohibited.

The Police Regional Office 8 immediately conducted an investigation with the emphasis that it will not tolerate any form of misconduct committed by its personnel.
