Jeepney Driver Stranded on Road as Rising Diesel Prices Take a Toll

A jeepney driver was stranded in the middle of the road along Alabang-Zapote Road due to lack of diesel amidst the high fuel prices.

The driver, identified as Allan, had been managing his fuel by buying diesel in small amounts because of its high price. However, on that day, he ran out while still on the road, leaving both him and his passengers stranded under the heat of the sun.

A passenger who witnessed the incident shared how the ride suddenly stopped, not because of a mechanical problem, but because the jeepney had no fuel left. Allan was then seen rushing off with a white container, trying to find a place where he could buy diesel.

Despite the heat, he continued searching, hoping to get back on the road as soon as possible.

As minutes passed, passengers began to get off one by one. Some chose to find other rides, while a few stayed behind, concerned about what would happen if the driver returned and no one was left.

The video showed not only the struggle of the driver but also the quiet understanding of those who chose to wait.

@mejjjjj What should’ve been a 5-minute ride turned into almost 30. I took a jeepney today to get my car—and today was different. After almost 20 minutes, may dumating na @Move It PH ♬ hide the pain – death by falling

The Department of Energy said that diesel prices could increase even more, possibly reaching very high levels due to ongoing global conflicts.

After almost 20 minutes, may dumating na @Move It PH rider hinatid siya pabalik.
Hindi na siya pinabayad. Salamat, kuya.

Pagod. Pawis. Halatang stress.
At paulit-ulit siyang nagso-sorry.

Tapos sinabi niya
‘yung diesel, ₱400+ agad.’

I took off at Madrigal Business Park then nagmadali ako bumaba at lumapit ako sa front passenger side then tinawag ko si tatay.
“Kuya, pagasolina ka ha.” Yan lang nasabi ko habang inaabot yung 1k.

As usual, hindi na ako lumingon kay tatay habang nagbubusina sya, ang alam ko thank you busina yun kasi maiiyak ako as an iyakin

Today’s is my mom’s birthday and I know ito yung klase ng kwento na magpapangiti sa kanya dahil ganun siya… always helping others

Kaya kung kaya natin tumulong, kahit maliit na halaga (like instead of P13 na pamasahe, pwede natin gawing P15 kung may extra), gawin natin. Para sa kanila, hindi ‘yon maliit.”
