U.S. Pres. Donald Trump Criticizes Pope Leo Following Roman Catholic Church Supreme Pontiff’s Remarks on War
DONALD TRUMP – The United States President attacked the head of the Romantic Catholic Church, Pope Leo, following the latter’s remark over the war.
Previously, amid the war in the Middle East, Pope Leo urged the world leaders in his Easter message to abandon every desire for conflict. It came after he previously called for a ceasefire in the war that involves the United States, Israel, and Iran.
Pope Leo called for dialogue among the countries that are involved in the Middle East conflict rather that continuing the war. However, then, U.S. Pres. Donald Trump was quick to junk Pope Leo’s call saying they are not looking into a ceasefire.
Tehran imposed restrictions on the passage in the Strait of Hormuz after U.S. and Israel attacked Iran. It banned the vessels linked to their enemies and such move elicited several warnings and ultimatums against Trump.
U.S. Pres. Donald Trump previously gave an ultimatum to Iran and said that Iran’s whole civilization may be die if it does not heed the ultimatum to fully open the Strait of Hormuz. Pope Leo reacted to it saying that the warning is supposedly “unacceptable”.
Before the ultimatum ended, Trump agreed to a 2-week ceasefire with Iran. However, recently, it was confirmed that U.S. and Iran failed to arrive at an agreement during the 21-hour peace talks. It was announced by U.S. Vice Pres. JD Vance.
Iran reportedly did not agree on the condition of U.S. for its non-acquisition of nuclear power as well as the control in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran previously stressed that they will not surrender the control in the Strait of Hormuz. Recently, U.S. Pres. Donald Trump criticized Pope Leo following his remarks on the Middle East war.
Based on a report on GMA News, U.S. Pres. Donald Trump called Pope Leo as allegedly a weak leader. He also claimed that he is not a fan of the Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church and should allegedly get his act together.
“Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime and terrible for Foreign Policy… Leo should get his act together as Pope,” the U.S. President stated based on the report.
Currently, the world is monitoring the updates about the situation in the Middle East following failed peace talks. U.S. Pres. Donald Trump announced that he has ordered the U.S. Navy to block the Strait of Hormuz.
