Authorities Arrest 2 Men for Stealing Lotto Machine in Quezon City
Two men were arrested after stealing a lotto machine worth P24,000 in Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City.
On early Wednesday morning, May 20, 2026, two male suspects were arrested after allegedly breaking into a lotto outlet and stealing a lotto betting machine. According to police reports, the suspects, aged 33 and 25, were involved in the robbery that happened along Kingsport Avenue.
CCTV footage showed the older suspect walking around the area and acting as a lookout while the younger suspect reportedly entered the outlet to take the machine.
The actual theft was not captured on camera, but authorities said the younger suspect was the one who went inside the lotto outlet and carried out the machine.
The crime was discovered before 8:00 a.m. when an employee arrived for work. The employee immediately noticed that the padlock of the shop had been forcibly damaged. Upon entering the outlet, the worker saw that the lotto betting machine was already missing.
Police quickly launched a follow-up operation and tracked down the two suspects on Thursday afternoon, May 21, 2026, at Coronel Compound in the same barangay. Authorities were also able to recover the stolen lotto machine during the operation.
Meanwhile, police are still searching for another suspect, a 29-year-old man who reportedly managed to escape.
Investigators also found that the three suspects already had previous records. The 33-year-old suspect reportedly had several theft and illegal gambling cases, while the younger suspect had a previous case related to illegal drugs.
Their missing companion also reportedly had a record involving illegal gambling.
The 25-year-old suspect admitted taking the machine but refused to provide more details, saying he would only speak further in court. The older suspect also chose not to comment further.
Both suspects are currently detained at the Novaliches Police Station while robbery charges are being prepared against them.
