Motorcycle Rider Suffers Injuries After Hitting Low-Hanging Electric Wire
A motorcycle rider suffered scratches and minor injuries after his head got caught on a low-hanging electric wire while driving along Molino Road at night.
Recently, Odubme Lien, a Facebook user, shared photos of his injuries on social media to warn other motorists about the danger of loose wires hanging in the middle of the road. The post quickly spread online and received many reactions from netizens.
According to Lien, the incident happened around 9:40 in the evening while he was on his way to pick up his wife from work. He was passing through Molino Road near Bayanan when the accident suddenly happened.
He explained that there are usually hanging decorations or banners in the area, so he initially thought the object in front of him was just another bandereta. However, he later realized that electric wires were also hanging low across the road.
As he continued driving, the wire suddenly hit his head, causing him to panic and lose focus for a moment. He shared that his body froze from shock and he started trembling because he thought he might get electrocuted.
Fortunately, he survived the incident and only suffered scratches and minor wounds.
The rider said he felt lucky that the wire did not carry enough electricity to seriously harm him. He also admitted that the accident could have turned much worse if he had lost control of his motorcycle or if the wire had been fully live.
Many netizens called on local authorities and utility companies to immediately fix dangling wires and remove road hazards to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
